I'm home FINALLY!
Helloooooooooo ladies!
Long time no chat. Surgery was very uneventful and so was the stay in the hospital. I LOVED the care I received at the hospital in Concord, NC. The nurses were awesome and my doctor did a fantastic job. First week was difficult though gettin in the protein and water. I didn't do very well. Today though, I have a great recipe and have 38 grams of protein already this morning out of one 8 oz. shake. HAPPY! I've eaten a popsicle already and drank lots of water, so I feel more in control than what I did. Sorry to report though that I will most likely have to have my gall bladder removed. I started with pain in my right side 2 days after I got out of the hospital and into the hotel. I have a huge gall stone. Doc is putting me on some meds to try and alleviate some of the pain. I feel great though. I lost 15 pounds the first week...not too bad! I'm not focused on a number though. I'm focused on getting healthy! It was very strange though learning to sip rather than gulp. I've gotten the hang of it now. Something else strange, no appetite at all. My mind played tricks on me and I constantly talked about food, what my favorite foods were at any place Grandma went to eat, that kinda thing. Anyhow, just wanted to let you all know I'm home and things are going great! Thanks so much for all the wonderful emails and posts!
