123er not doing as good as you guys...
Hi everyone - Had surgery on the 23rd; went to see my Dr. today because I have been so weak, short of breath and ligthheaded. Just walking upstairs requires a 10 minute rest to catch my breath; A shower is a whole other event which requires a restperiod after. He did bloodwork - results is tomorrow, but he says I am probably anemic. I lost more than the norm amount of blood I think after surgery that I passed in my b.m's. Also, my blood pressure was quite low from right after surgery till today. The nurse/dr. had felt that it was the anesthesia that caused it, but when it was still low (85 over 56) yesterday I got worried and called my dr. and that's why I saw him today. I have been on blood pressure meds for 5 years or so which has kept my pressure at 110 over 70 consistently. Today it was right back to 110 over 70 and I felt very relieved. Doesn't look like I need that medication anymore which is nice! Also, I have lost 14 lbs. which is terrific. I am having no trouble with my liquids or protein intake. SORRY - didn't mean to ramble for so long, but I just needed to put it out there what I've been experiencing. Thank you all so much for listening.

Sylvia,
{{{{{{{hug}}}}}}}} I am so sorry that you are going through that. I think in every one of us we have our own story to tell. Keep your head up and just think it will pass. I have a friend who had WLS in July 04' and had many complications. I never asked of her complications and she assumed I knew until.......the other nite when I called her crying sobbing that I was HUNGRY!!!!!! She then proceded to tell me what she had went through...if I would of know before I would of thunk this through alot harder!! But its done and over and this is the choice I made not my husband, my friends or family...... ME!!!! She is my inspiration just like this board.
Good luck and keep us posted. Just remember YOU ARE NOT ALONE!!!!!!

Sylvia, thank you for your post, I also had surgery on the 23, and I am feeling very tired and weak also, not as bad as you are though. I hope your dr is able to help, but you made me realize something with your post that I never even thought about, i was also anemic before surgery, and I'll be honest, I was supposed to be taking iron, but have a terrible time remembering to take pills, so I didnt always get them in every day
. And I never resumed taking them after surgery either. I am sure when I go for my check up today I will be spoken to about it
Well, I hope you are feeling better soon, hang in there!
Karyn

Sylvia,
As I was reading your post I was thinking anemia, then you confirmed that when you said that's what your doctor thought. I had anemia about a year ago, and was very familiar with those symptoms; and have been taking 325mg iron tabs since then. I also began feeling like that a week or two out after surgery and went to the pharmacist to get some liquid iron that will give me 325mg again and some chewable Vit C to help absorb it. Since then, I have been feeling a little better.
Hope you hear something and feel better soon!
Sandy L
