Sleeping Issue
Is anyone else having trouble sleeping at night? Ever since I got home from the hospital (almost 2 weeks ago) I cant sleep thru the night or am up very late cause Im not tired. I thought cutting out the naps would help and its very hard for me to take them since I am so used to being busy all the time (2 jobs) and if I take a nap I dont sleep well at night. When I do sleep I am getting the rest I need. I dont know what to do and dont want to start taking something for it either. Any Suggestions??? Thanks for any input!!!
p.s. Its 12:15 am and I am not even close to being tired

Hi Sue,
I have the same issue- hard to sleep. I do think our Pre-busy schedules and now this more mundane style may have something to do with it. I read alot so reading in bed till I get sleepy helps. So many issues to deal with, but remember we did have major surgery and this time is for us to heal. No doubt our sleeping patterns will return once we return to work. cj
I have to tell you I work 10 hour ****s and I retunred to work last week (half days) and this week full time. I can not get to sleep to save my butt. I have to get up at 5AM and Sunday I did not get to sleep until 1AM and that is becsaue I finally took some of the pain meds cause I knew it would knock me out.
I am concerned becasue being tired and trying to heal is only going to get me sick in that "Sick hole" I call a job. Everyone is sick all the time. I guess when you work with hundreds of people you just pass it around.
I have totally cut out naps as well. Anyway I just wanted to let you know I feel your pain, but I have no solution. It's 11:30 now HELLO!!!!
I am faithfully committed to my late afternoon naps and now that I am back working they are impossible to get in. I find my quality of a nights sleep is diminished as I cant roll over and have to sleep on my back. That's keeping me up a bit at night, too. Although the hotel bed I was in last night was sooo soft that I actually slept on my side for about an hour and it felt just wonderful!!!!
I think it will take time to adjust after the weeks of cat naps and slower schedules; for me, I am also coming off some meds and they were making me more sleepy, too.
The good news is that we're waking up to new bodies and lives!!!
Sue,
I've been having trouble as well. Early on after surgery, I didn't have too much trouble, I would get to sleep easily enough, but if I woke up, I could also fall back asleep pretty easily. For the last week now, though, I wake up around 4am and takes 1 - 1.5 hours to fall back asleep. That's ok for now, but next week I'll be back at work and worry about nodding off at my desk if I am only able to sleep about 4-5 hours at night! I cut out the naps as well, but hasn't helped. I wish I had an answer for you, but I haven't found it yet. Just wanted to let you know you are not alone!
