I got into trouble....
My follow up nurse called from the insurance co today. I was asking her what i could do to exercise more and she told me that i am pushing myself too hard. I feel like I am taking it slow. Also if you had the Open RNY dont vaccuum due to it puts alot of strain on the incision. Oops didnt know that one either! Hmmm someone giving me the permission not vaccuum, thats not too bad!
And she told me I really shouldnt be driving in case I have an accident it could do bad damage to incision. Tell me not to drive??? Ummm I live alone and there are times I need to go get things and friends all work during the day. (Guess I am way to independent)...Sorry just needed to vent

Dear Sue,
Having had a Lap RnY, I don't know if it's different for me or not, but I was told the reason for waiting on the driving is because of any pain meds I might be taking (so as to avoid having an accident because of drowsiness).
I'm pretty sure than an accident could hurt more than just my insicion sites!
As far as the exercise... my case is one where I need to get MORE active than I've been. They had wanted me to be walking every day for 20 minutes once I got home from the hospital. (I haven't been "regular" with that one yet.) Today, though, my man and I are going to go for a bike ride... something I haven't done in YEARS!)
Good luck to you!
