Hello I have seen some people on other boards post that they have a card from their surgeon saying they've had surgery & can order off the child's menu. Does anyone know where to obtain this? Thanks, Carly

Carly, I would just ask your surgeon. Mine actually gave us ours in our informational packet at our 1st pre-op visit. It doesn't say anything fancy. Just that I've had stomach surgery and to allow me to order 1/2 or children's portions. He also gave me a card in case of emergency so the EMTs don't intubate the wrong way and puncture your pouch. I'm thinking of getting a medical alert bracelet instead so they don't have search for this little card. Lisa

My doc gave me one, but honestly you don't really need it. My best friend had surgery last year and when we go to restaurants she just tells the waiter she had surgery and can she order off the kids menu. They have never told her no and she doesn't have a card. And honestly, and restaurant who gives you a hard time is probably one you don't want to patron anyway! HTH! Beth

IHOP will let you order off of the no carb kids menu without the card... I don't have a card, but I'm putting it on my medical alert bracelet... maybe they will let me with that LOL ::hugs:: Cyndi
