Just wondering...any thoughts or ideas on something that won't upset my stomach that I can eat. I was doing great last week, but over did it or something else, I don't know, but now water makes me nauseaus. I have tried tea, popsicles and can get it down but I am barely making half my liquids for the day. I am getting nervous. And definately having a "what in the h*ll did I do" couple of days.

I got a Rx of Zofram last evening since the nausea has been hindering my fluid and food intake too. (I was on Zofram around the clock while in the hospital) I have taken it once---it does seem to help with stomach nausea. My bowels on the otherhand still have their moments that create nausea... guess that is my IBS... Hang in there Karen

I've also been having a real problem the last couple of days. I was doing great for the first few weeks. I actually got worried that the pouch was too big! Then all of a sudden my intake really changed. Now I can only eat a couple of bites or they come back up, and yesterday and today - pretty much everything makes me ill. One thing that helps (our nutritionist recommended) if you are sick to your stomach and worried about dehydration - sip chicken broth! The salt helps you retain the fluids that you are able to get in which in turn helps with the nausea. I did it yesterday and two small cups of broth really helped settle my stomach enough so I could drink water. Good luck! Eileen

I had my surgery 3 days before you, did great on liquids and protein for the first week and a half and then started struggling. I know how you're feeling, I was there a few days ago. For the past two days I have really focused on the liquids and protein and do feel better. All of the crystal light type drinks are just plain gross to me now. Tap water hurts my pouch, yesterday I had a bottle of spring water and it did not hurt! I bought some Diet Hawaiian Punch and mixed it ¼ HP to ¾ water and it went down pretty good. I have found Isopure and really like that a 20 ounce bottle has 40 grams of protein. I got mine at the Vitamin Shoppe, it runs about 3.25 per bottle but at this point I guess I am worth it! The other thing that works for me is pureed chicken and stars and 98% FF cream of chicken soup make with high protein, skim milk. The sugar free jello is not so bad, have you tried any of that? Here is a 'who would have thought' ... last night I made tacos and such for my family for dinner. I was able to eat ½ of a toasted corn tortilla with a teaspoon of FF refried beans and a teaspoon homemade guacamole. God Bless, Jen

I had my surgery on Jan. 17th and am finding the same thing the last couple of days. Yesterday, I ate some cottage cheese and tomatoes too quickly and suffered gas and a bit of nauseau the rest of the day. I had measured 1/2 cup of the cottage cheese then added tomatoe so I think it was too much food. Today I am trying to stick to soups, etc., maybe an omelete or scrambled egg tonight. But, I am still so darn gassy.
