SURGERY 4 DAYS AGO

I want to thank you all for the good wishes. It means alot. But I have to say that im hungry and the scale hasnt moved much since I had the op..Maybe a pound. I was also wondering am I the only person in the world who thinks this isnt gonna work?? (sigh)

No you are not the only one - read my post earlier today I came home from the hospital 25 lbs UP because of all the fluid they put in me! Sylvia

I had the surgery on the 19th, a couple days after I got home from the hospital I felt that the surgery must not have worked, I have not been sick and I do at times feel hungry. When I told my doctor he laughed and said don't be silly. A couple of weeks out now I find that it is more psychological and I do sometimes feel too full. About your scale, I just made my sister hide it on me until Tuesday. I will weigh myself and then have her hide it again. I was checking the scale way too often.

Hi Suzie and welcome home! Dont worry we all went thru that feeling atleast once since surgery. Or atleast I know I have. Like someone else said I also gained back all the weight I had lost being on clear liquids for 2 days and lost like 12 lbs and then I got home and I stepped on the scale and it was all back. Talk about frustrating! But now I am 2 weeks post op and its coming off! Give it time! Hang in there and just know that we are here for you! -Sue

Hi Suzie, it is going to work, I had my surgery 1/20/06 and I am on puree now for 1 month. It isn't going to be easy for any of us right now, but before we know it six months will have gone by and we will be eating a lot of different things. i take one day at a time and so far it is working for me. I think in the beginning I had head hunger, But now the 2T of food at mealtime and all the fluids I am not hungry at all. Take care and I am sure things will be better soon. Rosemary

I think it is different for RNY and VSG. I wish I could help you. I'm hungry now, but wasn't then. I only wanted flavor, not food. ::hugs:: Cyndi
