My surgeon gave me a RX for iron pills and they are not covered by my insurance. I could have swore he said I could take over the counter if it was not covered. The RX was 80.00. The nurse said they are special quick absorbing iron and that I really need to take them. The Surgeon was gone when I called and is gone a for a while. I told her that I had been out of work and could not afford 80.00 right now. I asked if I could take over the counter for a couple of weeks until I could get the money for the iron pills they want me to take. She said that was better than nothing. My questions to you are: Do you have a RX for iron? Do you take an over the counter? Is it quick absorbing? What is it called? I need to get on the iron immediatley but need some ideas of what type to buy for the next few weeks until I can get the others. Thanks Kristie

Hi Kristie, I'm taking a prescription Iron supplement with B12 & Iron in it. It is covered by my insurance, so I took it. I take 2 a day and also a multi-vitamin. It is called Conosin, (generic name) and it is quick absorbing. Sorry to hear about your prescription. Take Care, Carly
