Since yesterday after I ate a scrambled egg, nothing is staying down after I eat. Yesterday, it was an all day thing even the liquids won't stay down, this morning water and sf kool-aide went down fine, until after I ate, now it seems all the liquids and food I ate came back up...I am not nauseated and wouldn't call it throwing up, it is like belching and liquid coming up with it, i am now having severe indigestion from the acid and stuff..and my BM's are ok(sorry if TMI)? Cindy- I'm right there with ya'. For me it has been going on for about a week. I am having trouble figuring out if it is something serious like a stricture or if I am still just overfilling my pouch and not getting the signals my body is sending (except that I'm not putting much of anything in and it just wants to come out). I find that in the evening (late evening) I'm able to get a little something in, but from morning right through I am spitting up after anything goes in - and just like you it's not really throwing up, but it is just coming up. Wish I had some ideas for you, but you are not alone! Eileen

Cindy, I have heard that a lot about eggs!! Maybe try just a spoonful and work your way up. Many people either have a problem with eggs, or can't quite chew them down far enough. Remember to not have fluids right before or right after eating solids!!! Are you on prilosec or something like it. You need to take it before a meal I think. Good luck! ::hugs:: Cyndi

I was like that for a couple of days, didn't follow eggs this time though. I think we go thru periods of swelling still. We heal for a couple of months I am told. As long as food is still going in and thru and not all coming back up, we should be ok. This went on for a couple of days, my food intake went down each day, then all of a sudden, I was back on track and able to eat 2 oz. a meal again. I believe this is normal.

I had a scrambled egg this morning, first time, and the 1/4 of it that I ate stayed down alright...but....it's the first thing really since monday that hasn't made me nauseous. I don't know if it's the egg or if I am just over what ever has been going on the last hideous week. Chicken broth has been the only thing, oh and hot tea, that seems to not irritate my stomach. Try that. Especially a minty tea.

Hi, Cindy. Sorry to hear that you're having this problem. Part of me says that your body isn't used to solid food now after having the liquids for so long and that it's going just take a little time. The other part says to contact your surgeon tomorrow and just double check with them. It's always better to be safe than sorry and a phone call doesn't hurt and takes just a few minutes. Even if just to have peace of mind. Keep us posted. ~*Kim*~
