OJ & liquid vitamins.

ok...this is actually two completely different topics, but thought I would combine it into one post. I am pretty sure that OJ is supposed to be on the no no list...but today it tasted so good and has really been the only thing other then chicken broth that I have been able to drink that doesn't upset my stomach. Anyone else drinking OJ? Or am I really screwing up?? Second...a friend suggested to me, after I share the lovely experience with her of throwing up my vitamins when I took them on Thursday, to try liquid multi vitamins. Thought I would put the suggestion out there. I just took some and went down like a charm. I mixed it with a little OJ and it didn't even taste too bad. It's Enfamil multivitamin supplement drops for infants and toddlers, but figured it can't be much different then flinstones. Anyway...I doubled up the dose and all seems good so far.

I think it's non pulp OJ that's a no no. To get my OJ fix I have sugar free Tang. Is your doctor good with the liquid vitamins? If so that would be a great thing for those having problems. Now if I could just find a calcium I can stomach ::hugs:: Cyndi

Cindy, You had VG right? I do Viactiv Calicum Chews (the caramel flavor). They are really soft and my doc says they are OK so long as I can tolerate solid foods and I calculate them into my daily intakes (they have some calories and carbs, but not many). Anyway, they are yummy.

My surgeon keeps emphasizing that my multi must be PLUS iron. The Centrum chewable is not too bad. And for calcium the Caltrate chewable is like a sweet tart without the sugar.

I've been drinking OJ since I was in the hospital with no problem. I usually have it with crushed ice so it's a bit diluted. As for vitamins, I take the Optisource chewables. That's what my surgeon recommended. The go down fine. I have to take 4 per day 2 in the morning and 2 at dinner. But that's it. No extra iron, calcium, B12....that's it. They taste kind of citrusy. And you can buy them at Walgreen's!

I am not sure about the OJ - my doc never said one way or another. But as far as the vitamins I take a generic version of flinstones chewables (I like the flavor of our local grocery store better) I take two of those a day and for my calcium I take 3 tums a day. I will probably go to the vitachews eventually but for now the chewable tums work so much better! (and they help calm my stomach - a bonus!) Beth
