Tomorrow will be 3 weeks since I had my surgery. I am still experiencing quite a lot of soreness in my left side. I realize this is the muscle and is where the stapler was placed during surgery. I'm just wondering.... when will the soreness go away? ~Teri~ 311/279/259.2/140

Teri, I am a week behind you and I certainly hope you get an answer. I am still sore on my left side. I would love to know when the port area stops aching. Sandra

I am definately still sore but like everything, it gets better each day. The surgeon told me it would be a total of 6 weeks of soreness. I also get occassional sore areas in other spots which I know is healing taking place.

I'm almost a week out and sometimes I have a little pain on my sides, especially if I spend to much time on one side or the other. But it is a lot milder around a 1 on the pain scale. Walking really helped my pain go away, it stretches the muscle to stand straight and it heals faster, especially if you are getting all your protein in. ::hugs:: Cyndi

Hi Teri, I too am having pain in my left side. I asked the surgeon about it and she said it is perfectly normal and that I will probably have if for a few more weeks. She gave me some liquid Tylenol w/ codeine, which I take only if it gets really bad. Hope you feel better soon! Rosa

Teri, hi I had my surgery 2 weeks ago today and I had to go to the er this past Friday due to severe right sided pain. The cat scan said that it is scar tissue stuck to my intestines from previous abdominal surgeries I have had. I have an appointment with my surgeon tomorrow to evaluate if they need to go back in a remove the scar tissue off my intestines. Adhesions can cause pain. Just thought you should know. Lisa
