I just posted 2 pictues on my profile (sorry I don't know how to make them smaller). I still have these welts, hives on my belly. I had to meet my surgeon at the ER Saturday morning because I was in such agony. He was very honest and said that he wasn't sure how to treat them. He had the ER doctor take a look. I'm now on 20 mg prednisone once a day for 5 days (no descending dosages)., steroidal topical cream, oral benadryl, claritin, and tagamet. I started all of those meds yesterday and there's still no improvement. I'm planning on getting in to see my pcp tomorrow. Did anyone else have this type of problem? I'm not sure if it's from the Heparin, the epidural or all of the sugar free (aspartame) products that I was eating. The ER doctor says that sometimes they change the red dye in these products and people react differently. On Sat evening I was eating sugar free jello when I had a terrible attack. My head was itching so badly, I had to jump into the shower. Other that this itching problem I'm feeling pretty good. I'm very discourage though. I came home weighing 20lbs more that before my surgery, and now I'm on prednisone. Geesh, something has to give! Thanks for any help you may be able to give me. Kathy

Kathy, Oh my! I am so sorry you are having to go through this. It looks like you are very allergic to something. I hope the prednisone helps. Teresa

I looked at your pics, and wish I had some suggestions. I agree it looks like you are highly allergic to something. All I can offer is my prayers and wishes that you get to feeling better very soon. Sandy L
