Okay ladies! Time to be accountable... Did you excercise today? What did you do and for how long. Also, to start us out, let's find out what your surgeons have cleared you for. I will start. I am only cleared for walking and treadmill for the first THREE months. This really sucks because I have never been more motivated than now and I can't do anything! So I walked a mile and half today. It felt great.

Hey Valerie~ I own an elliptical and was cleared to start using it today! I was thrilled to see you post this morning about the exercise challenge. Right after I responded I jumped on. I was on it for 18 mins. I wanted to go for 20 but my 19 month old was being a little monster. I can't complain though; the first time I ever got on an elliptical, I only stayed on for 36 seconds!! Hi Valerie, Great post, thanks for starting this. I am also only allowed to walk and do the treadmill for 6-7 weeks post op so I am enjoying it while I can! I have a very energetic dog who LOVES his morning walks, there's no reprive. We walk a mile every morning and then 2x a week we go our long route which is 3 miles. I am still sore so next week I hope to start the treadmill and get in more. Every walk makes me feel better and better. In the meanwhile, when I walk I focus on form, breathing and try to make it all it can be. Tiffany

Notice I say I walked? Well it was around and around and around the park. I have a four year old and an 8 month old. They want to be included in whatever I do. I guess that it is good for the whole family. Even my husband comes and plays basketball with the other men in the park.

I just started this past weekend. I did 1/2 brisk walk today... I hope to work my way up to more. I also did step aerobics for 10 min on saturday and sunday, but it KILLED! I was approved for any excercise that I was physically capable of as soon as I could tolerate after surgery. They suggested walking for the first month (but I did not do that). I hate excercise, but always feel great after I do it. I hope to keep up with it now.

I'm supposed to walk at least 2 miles everyday. I don't go to a gym and i don't have any exercise equipment, so i walk outside. Today I walked 2 miles in 40 minutes.

Today I went on treadmill for 30 mintues, I ran for 11 of those minutes. I dont know how far I went because the stupid thing you connect to yourself detatched from the machine and the machine stopped and i was not keeping track of how far I was going.
