How long to sip?
This may seem like a stupid question...but....
After surgery we are told to sip fluids, which I have been doing. However, I realized that I am having a hard time getting all my fluids in so today I have commited myself to becoming properly hydrated.
I have found that I can drink lots of water...not just sip it. I can take a few swallows, in fact. Is this normal? I have the micropouch which is the size of a grape. Maybe the water is flowing through too fast? Can you drink water faster than sipping?
I think I'll call my doc today...I just seem to be full of questions.

I can drink water without having to take tiny sips like some have described. My surgeon said that you take a drink and by the time you swallow, lift your cup, take a drink and swallow that first drink has already moved out. I don't gulp (been too afraid to try honestly) but I can take a good size drink, swallow and then another right after.
Let us know what your surgeon says.

I have increased my sips too. Be careful though, at some point even a small swallow will become a rock and it will go down like a nothing you have felt before. This seems to only happen with water. It has been said you can not stretch your pouch with water, so it sounds like your swollows are about the size of your pouch or you don't get too bothered by slightly too much water than your pouch can handle and that it is draining fairly quickly.
I had the micropouch.
