Hi All! Well after craving Taco Bell like crazy... we went there for dinner last night after choir practice (I accompany my grandmother's church choir with my flute while my parents sing). I can definately say I don't crave it anymore. I had the insides of a soft taco- should have gotten one with tomatos or something. All that was in it was meat and cheese lol. Definately NOT what I remember. It was kinda bland. Also tried some of the pintos in cheese- not to spectacular either. I guess the taste buds do change a bit, eh?? Take Care! *~*Jaci*~*

Jaci - So you gave into the craving huh? LOL. MY biggest thing was just that I could eat the insides of a taco (I got the sour cream and tomatos on mine). Made me feel like a normal person with options. And because of it we are having tacos for dinner tonight at home. But I'm with you, it didn't taste as good as my head remembered it. Does this mean we are dealing with food issues without even thinking about it? *grin* Glad you got to have your craving with no ill effects! Hugs, Beth

Maybe I'll try it next time with sour cream and tomatos... didn't even think about that when my dad asked my order lol!

Taco Bell has always been a big favorite and pre op I went there and ordered a few of my favorite things....they were not what I'd remembered and I was sorely disappointed. On a similair note: I love(d) Thai food and was thinking about that a few nights ago and ordered what I would have pre op. It was too much food but I thought it would be good for leftovers and I needed a minimum $$ for delivery (did not want to go out in the bitter cold). Well, it was soooo disappointing and its all in my fridge; I wont be craving that anymore, either. When I toss it tomorrow I am going to articulate all the money I am throwing away so I learn two lessons!! Our taste buds AND our behaviour is changing!!! Cheers, Tiffany

I had the same upset with our local grocery store's chinese food. I LOVED their broccoli beef, but it just wasn't the same this time! My pocket book is sure liking this surgery! LOL Jaci

Now, I thought I'd died and gone to heaven when I at my Taco Bell Pintos & Cheese. It was so warm and smooth going down. I'd never had it before surgery, so I didn't have any taste to compare it to. I'm not allowed beef for several months, so a taco insides will be a while for me. But, at least I'm a cheap lunch at 85 cents for the beans! Lisa

I hadn't had the Pintos and Cheese before either. But I asked for no sauce (they put red sauce on it here) so maybe thats whay I didn't care for it! I'm cheap too, but its more pricey than yours! It's .89 cents and with tax .96! OUCH!

It's amazing how our taste buds change! I had a burrito from Baja Fresh yesterday - grilled chicken with cheese, guac and pico. It didn't taste that great either and before surgery I could eat like three or more a week. Not to mention I was sick as a dog after my 4 little bites of chicken. I ended up throwing the rest away since I was running to the bathroom every 30 mins to I had pizza the other day - just a bite and it didn't taste the same either. It helps get rid of the craving especially if you get sick from it. Have a good one! Dana

Hi Jaci, I hear ya on our taste buds changing, I haven't tried taco bell yet but I did try Chinese Chicken w/mix veggies. It was good not just as tasty as I remembered. Oh well I can save money. Take Care, Carly
