Salad Anyone?
Tasha,
I haven't had it yet either, but this morning I woke up craving tomatoes with ranch dressing.
My doctor told me that as of today I can have anything I want. I guess I'm still afraid to try though. I have my foods that I know I can agree with and I'm not sure if I am ready to add new things just yet.
Dawn
I'm supposed to be on pureed food...but I am not pureeing anything. Yesterday at the mall in the food court, I struggled to find something that I was able to eat (while everyone else was enjoying their favorites!)...I walked a LOT and was getting lightheaded and the cheese cubes I had packed just weren't cutting it.
I had a few bites of steamed veggies and I took it slowly and chewed very very well. However, they did not sit well with me and for 20 mins or so, I felt like they may come up (they never did...the feeling passed, thankfully). I'm 3 weeks post op.
When does your doctor say you can have salad? I'd love one myself!
Chele
Well to be honest I have skipped the Drs recommendations (only after consulting the nutritionist) because I have not had one adverse reaction and I am tired of liquids, scrambled eggs and cream of wheat because I don't like a lot of the things on my "approved" food list like cottage cheese or mashed potatoes. So I've been eating pureed foods and using recipes out of a WLS cookbook. At two weeks I was eating chicken, cooked veggies, peanut butter, fish etc. with no problem. Although I really want a salad I plan to wait until my 5 week check up to talk to the Dr. I have a 7 stage diet that takes an average of 4 months to go through but they always stress this time frame varies for patients...I'm already on stage 3!
