for the ladies in the house!!
I had my period about two weeks before surgery (surgery was Jan 3, 06) and haven't had anything since. I don't know if it is my PCOS or the surgery and weight loss or both. So far, shows no sign of coming up, but was told by my pcp that rapid weight loss can also shut down your period or throw off your schedule.

I had my surgery January 30, 2006. And of course my period came early the night before I started. The doctor said probably due to stress or worried about surgery. So through the 2 1/2 day stay in the hospital I had to deal with a heavy period and recovery. It has only been 2 weeks since surgery and I hope I don't see it for a couple of weeks. I had my surgery though Kaiser South San Francisco in California and I thought they said no birth control after surgery. So I went off back in July 2005 when I knew i had to go off 2 months prior to surgery.
I even went as far to talking my husband into getting him self fixed. Well I didn't want to chance getting pregnant before or after surgery. We have one handsome son together who is a freshman in high school this year. And I have a step daughter from my husbands previous relationship and a young step grandson. To bad they just can't make then go away forever....

Thanks, for posting this, Dawn, as I had the same question. My experience had been the opposite. Post surgery I removed Nuva and it came and went as expected. This month, however, I started spotting 10 days before the end of the cycle and it looks like I'll have a normal period, too. Sigh. I've always been very regular so this is annoying and if it does not stop as expected I'll call the gyn. The surgeon said it was normal after major surgery, however.
I had my period start the day before my surgery on 1/11 and was miserable going into surgery knowing I was bleeding so heavily and even more miserable the afternoon after my surgery before they took the catheter out.(ok maybe tmi)
Anyways, I just started today (6-7 days late) and was beginning to wonder about it the last couple of days. I am relieved I finally started now!
