Hi All~ On a whim I threw together some ingredients and made a tasty chicken parm dish. Using pre-cooked chicken breast strips (not breaded). 4oz chicken 1tb part skim ricotta cheese 2tb ragu no sugar added sauce 1oz part skim mozzarella cheese starting with the chicken, layer all ingredients in a small bowl. Microwave for 45 seconds. Enjoy! Cal: 165 Fat: 6 Carbs: 5 Protein: 22

That sounds good! I haven't seen the "No Sugar Added" Ragu....does it specifically indicate that on the label or is it something you have found out by reading labels? Also...you don't have a problem with chicken breast strips? I haven't been cleared to eat any meat yet, so I'm just wondering! I have heard that chicken can be iffy with our pouches, but from what I have read, that's if it's on the dry side. Thanks for sharing and giving me ideas for the future! I'm going to have to start thinking of my current recipes and perhaps how to alter them to fit my way of eating. Chele

hi-I had my surgery about a week prior to yours and last week I was able to start on meats and I found the canned chicken gave me no problems at all and its all white meat--maybe that would help-good luck

Chele, I do fine with chicken; I'm just careful to chew it up to mush before I swallow. The Ragu says "light" "No Sugar Added" on the front of the jar. It still has 10 carbs per 1/2 cup serving, but who in here is going to eat a 1/2 cup of pasta sauce? I'm sure you could use the canned chicken too. I know my favorite way to eat canned chicken was with some FF chicken gravy on it, then heated up in the microwave....yum. Dawn

Hi Chele, Chicken and I dont get along at all. No matter how much I chew it, its like a rock in my stomach. I've written it off my list for awhile. Eggs, too. I also dont get along well with things that are microwaved, that seems to dry them out so I am taking a few extra minutes to sautee/bake it which also adds more to the food enjoyment process.
