Anyone else suffering from major gas issues?

Hi all. I had my surgery Jan. 26-06 (Lap RNY) and I've been a gassy mess. I also have diarehea (sp?) but the gas from the lower end is non stop! I do take Gas-X and it helps a little but I'm terrified that I'll be stuck with this gas forever! I'm starting to get paranoid about going out because I have to break wind every second and so I hold it in then I'm in severe pain. Anyone else having the same trouble? Thanks for letting me vent. Thanks for letting you vent??? Was that a pun...LOL!! I seem to be the opposite. Before my surgery my husband said I farted like a trucker, anymore I guess I am "more feminine" with my "toots"...lol. Maybe its the foods you are eating. Dawn

OMG... YES!!! Last night especially! My gas, however, has been "upper" gas. Very painful. Kept waking up last night with pain! Took a few sips of water and a couple Tums and it seemed to help. But now, it's back again! I think I am going to buy some of the Gas-X you mentioned when I go to the market today. I also think yesterday's bout might have been from the ff refried beans I'd eaten.... ~Teri~
