Well today marks the first day of week 7. What does this mean? It means no more food restrictions and even better, no more protein shakes! My doc wants us to cut out protein shakes all together and get protein from regular food. So here where the fun begins. Slowly testing out new foods and see what stays and what goes. My first test: chicken! I had some fabulous chicken noodle soup at work today. The chicken was pulled and seemed to go down just fine! YAY! First time for chicken is a go! What should I try next? Beth~ Hmmmm...the possibilites are ENDLESS!!! lol. I know that I am loving seafood right now. It is so high in protein and low in fat & carbs. I have been eating shrimp, flounder, tuna (obviously), and imitation crab meat. Cook any of them up and add some old bay and a few sprays of I can't believe it's not butter and you're good to go!! Hi Beth - I have been trying a lot of things and so far not too much trouble with anything. The only thing I would suggest is watch out for any meat/fish that seems dry with the first bite. The only two times I had a problem was with salmon and smoked mullet which tasted to good, but was too dry and got stuck. Also, eat really really slow with small bites so it doesn't get stuck. I have always loved mushrooms and have really fallen in love with them stuffed with crabmeat and a little cheese melted on top. It goes down easy and is yummy! Sylvia

Beth, Read my post about my new recipe. It was great and full of protein. Just chew it well. Well, I might wait since you are just now starting food, but Im sure you will like it. Try it in a couple weeks. Let me know how you did with it. Good luck on Solids! Michelle
