I was given a bunch of samples at my support group the other day, but Everything Ive tried has about gagged me. I even tried the nector kind. I guess I dont like fuzzy navel. Funny I liked them at the bar. lol . It says to mix with water. should I try mixing it with something else? Elsa

I too was having a terrible time with protein shakes and such until I found the chocolate flavored Designer Whey at Wal mart!!! I have been on them for almost a week now and the pounds are flying off of me!! To me they taste like chocolate milk and in 5-6 oz of milk they have 25g of protein!!! I love them and am very happy that I ran across them in the pharmacy there!! You might give those a try, the nectar and other brands just didnt taste good to me at all after surgery. Hope this helps!! Steph

Hi Elsa, Have you tried the Isopure? Each bottle is 40g of protein so even if you split it between 2 days its a nice boost. My favorite is the apple melon, it tastes like a jolly rancher. The blue raspberry and the orange/pineapple/banana is also good. Some on the site like to mix it with crystal lite, I drink it straight up and it does count towards your water, too. Its a nice change from the heaviness of the protein shakes. They are about $3.50 a bottle at either GNC or Vitamin Shoppe. VS gives a 38% discount on a case. Note that if there are any floaties in the bottle its not good, like anything, check the expiration date. The protein shake that i like is Joe Robb's protein shake, I got it at GNC and Whole Foods. Its 25g of protein, mix it with milk or soy milk and it can be up to 32g. Of course, chocolate is my favorite. Hope that helps! Tiffany

Hi Tiffany --I wanted to ask you about the "floaties" I bought a case of alpine punch and pineapple/orange/banana right before surgery and the expiration dats on both cases is 10/06, several months away however when I took 2 bottles out to put in the fridge they have the floaties!!!! Ugh--now I am wondering if that is why I had such a violent reaction earlier this week when all I had to drink or eat was a bottle of alpine punch in the morning--i wonder if GNC will let me exchange them??? What are the floaties anyway???

I bet the fuzzy navel nector would be good if mixed with orange sunrise crystal light. (I know my vanilla powder is, it tastes like a creamsicle.) Dawn

The only thing I found that I liked is: 1. Zero Carb Isopure and, 2. Nector Lemonade Flavor But I mixed them both with Crystal Lite. That way you don't get the proteiny taste. All the rest. Too gritty and yuck. I do drink a Carnation Instant Breakfast now and again and that has 12g of protein and tastes good. It makes a good breakfast when I don't feel like eating anything.

I also heard that mixing the Fuzzy Navel with milk tastes really good. I am sooooo turned off of Nectar from the cherry berry that i bought, but I may give it another chance. Hope you find something that works for ya! April

I mix mine with Sugar Free Orangeade... tropicana makes it and it is sold in 2 liter bottles. In my grocery store, its by the other non carbonated waters and drinks in the soda aisle... It is by far my favorite protein supplement.
