anyone having trouble eating and throwing?
I can only seem to eat soft foods, like refried beans and pudding. I tried to eat chicken and as soon as I ate it I was throwing . The problem is when I do throw I break blood vessels in my face. Mostly around my eyes, so I look like I went a few rounds and lost(lol). Well Tonight I tried potato with a little margarine and got the same sick feeling, but I threw blood this time(not alot) but enough to scare me a little. I feel fine other then the eating thing, I have not pains. I think that maybe it's just from throwing so much that everything is aggrevated. I did know if anyone else has had this experience.
Hi Lauren. I've been having a hard time with anything besides soft foods. I'm supposed to be on purreed (sp?) foods but have skipped ahead a little (bad girl) and I've puked enough to take it easy. I haven't had any blood. I think you should contact your surgeon ASAP just to be on the safe side. I hope your doing better soon. Keep us update!
Best Wishes,
Christina

Lauren,
Go SEE your surgeon. I just back from the hospital. I had surgery for a stricture. A blockage from your pouch to your intestine.
They fixed it and I can eat again and no more vomiting!
They say it's very common.
It could be or may not be but it is best to have it checked.
I was throwing up blood for 5 days before I went to see my surgeon.
Best of luck to you!
Hugs,
Julie
I am having problems also. I am not thowing blood but it seems like I do it about 3-4 times a week. My problem is that I don't even want to eat because something sits ok one day and then the next forget it! The only thing that seems to be staying down is shrimp! It is crazy! Please let us know what the surgeon says. Thanks
Michelle
me too!
It seems whenever I go beyond fluids, i throw up or suffer serious pressure about where my pouch, RUFUS sits....Im supposed to be on pureed foods now but everytime I try, I either throw up or just FEEL sick and queasy...today was a really bad experience since we were travellling the two hour trip home from Toronto from my fisrt checkup....I puked at my first restaurant meal...discreetly..and all the way home...guess I will revert back to fluids for a week or so then try again...RUFUS is a picky kinda pouch!
And hubby wants to go away for 3-4 weeks vacation in March! How can I manage if all I can swallow is fluids?

Hi all,
I just wanted to reinforce that if you are having problems to move on to solid food, you sould contact your surgeon.
I was vomiting for 4-5 days and could not go beyond very light fluids. I went back to the hospital, they did an endoscopic check and found out that I had narrowing of the stoma. This is supposed to be quite common and they fixed it right away but I heard it's very dangerous if left untreated.
Please be careful and contact your doctors if you are in doubt.
