I have a question

Hello; I have been having the worst time with eating. Most days after I eat I vomit. My doc says that if its a strickture she can not do anything for me until my 3 months are up, but she is sure that is not the case. She seems to believe that I am just slow in healing. Of course everytime I vomit, the swelling increases, so I have to start back to liquids, then puree and when I get to soft foods the vomiting starts again. Is anyone else having this problem? Karen

Hi Karen, I had a stricture at 3 weeks out. I did go back to the liquid diet and it didn't help. I kept throwing up, for three days, even water. It got so bad that I had the worst pain and then I went to the ER, I has so dehydrated that they couldn't even start the IV. I don't want you to get to that point. I had an endoscopy and was dilated. It is not that bad. That is what drugs are great for. I would see if you could just be dialated. Get it over with. I felt so much better. You would think it would be worse if you wait. Good Luck! Hi Karen, Too bad to hear you are not feeling well. What I don't understand is why they want to wait so long! I had the same problem and after 4 days of vomiting they did an endoscopic check and told me I had a stricture. They fixed it right away and I now feel much better! You might want to ask for a second opinion - there is no need to continue vomiting! Good luck, Vil

Karen, I would call your DR and tell him to have the test done. That is absurd! 3 months you would think you would starve to death if you cant keep anything down??? Im no DR but DUH! Im angry for you!!! That is something a little too serious to wait 3 freakin months! Michelle

Hi Karen, sorry you are having a hard time of it! I too have been having problems keeping my food down. I told myself not to start worrying unless I can't keep my water down. I believe that the foods that I am eating aren't the best and I'm still learning how to eat slowly so I think those are my problems. I don't know why she would make you wait that long but I would keep on her about it. You know your body and you know what feels right, let her know again. I hope it all works out for you. Dana

I must admit, I eat too fast. I don't eat too much, just too fast. So I have upchuck moments. I also have a problem with drinking when I eat, and that causes it too! I wish you the best. You are the patient and if you aren't getting the care you need, you need to pester them until they take care of you! ::hugs:: Cyndi
