Yesterday after lunch of soft scram egg and cheese, I started throwing up, and it went on for over 2 hours and was painful. I thought I was going to have to go to the ER and than it stopped. I have been having some problem with new foods, and throwing up. So now I am giving pouch a rest for a few days and just doing liquids, I was on liquids for a few days last week because of the throwing up. And I know I lost a lot of liquids yesterday, and was not able to get a lot in because of the throwing up. So today I have to try and double my liquid intake, because I don't want Iv fliuds from the ER, that is no fun to sit there (lay there) for over 4 hours. Any one else have this happen? My stomach is rumbleing away, and after I had my protein drink I felt like I was going to throw up again, but it clamed down. Any ideas what I should do, and how to get more fluids in today, I have a hard enough time getting in the normal amount, does pop sicles count toward fluids? I know jello does. Help, Thanks for your suggestions. Hugs, Lynda

Lynda, I have been the vomit queen since this surgery. I half jokingly say I feel like I am bullemic. I was excited yesterday that I had gone a full 5 days without vomiting, jinxed myself, and vomited. Some days it's food that I have been eating fine for weeks. I think I just have a very tempermental pouch. I think you are doing well though. I usually stick with liquids the rest of the day and try again the next day. Popsicles do count as fluids! I've also found that my tums help alot - which is lucky since I take them for calcium. I hope you feel better soon! Oh - another thought, if you continue to feel naseous you may have a touch of a stomach bug. I had one for three days - thought it was a stricture! Hugs, Beth

Hi Lynda, Hope you feel better. The same thing happen to me when I ate scrambled eggs. I think it was the butter so I am staying away for a while. For me, eating to fast makes it come up for me. Dawn

Sorry you're feeling badly Lynda. If you're not feeling better in a day or two I would call your doctor. You could have a flu bug. Have you tried Isopure or Nectar? It's a way to get in your protein in a clear liquid form. I mix them with crysal lite lemonade and then you don't get the proteiny taste. When I have a "grouchy" pouch I usually have a whole bottle of Isopure during the day, that's 40g, so it gives me a good base of protein with my fluids. Feel better soon. Regards and many hugs, Ronna

I had been doing the same thing. My surgeon says it could be alot of different things, eating to fast, eating big pieces (even though we think they are small), because of surgery the pouch is swollen, and vomiting makes it swollen more so. Of course there is the possiblity of it being to small to pass down. So since after the vomiting, they made me start from the beginning. Liquids, then puree then soft foods again. I did this three times before I learned my error is eating to fast, and bigger pieces than I should. It does hurt. I hope you will be better soon. Karen
