Insecure and worried
Hi everyone - I had RNY on 1/23 and have lost 32 lbs. Starting weight was 272, goal weight is 150ish. The scale again is stuck and once again I am wondering if I am doing okay. This is the second time it has happened, and both times I start thinking that this will not work for me and that I won't lose the weight. I went back to work last Thursday and am exhausted - getting used to being at a desk all day again; but I get most of my fluids in every day, my vitamins and protein and make good food choices. I get between 600 and 800 calories a day, and I'm trying to increase that a little, my dr. said between 800 and 1100 a day which just seems to high to me. Does my weight loss seem okay? Are you all getting in more than 800 calories a day? I read a lot of posts, and I don't want to whine, but I guess I just need reassurance. Thanks to anyone who can respond.

Sylvia, I had surgery the same day and have lost 30 lbs. as of Monday. I get in about 700-800 calories a day. I think you're right on track. Remember that it's normal for the scale not to move for a couple days or so. Do you weigh yourself everyday? I make sure I only weigh myself on Mondays so that I won't be disappointed on a daily basis! Keep up the good work, you're doing fantastic!

Your calories seem fine, but how many grams of protein are you getting? I know that some doc's are more lienent with this, and it really does seem to matter. The higher the better... mine wants me to get a MINIMUM of 70 and IDEALLY closer to 100g a day.
I was getting about 50 and stalled for an entire month.
Just a thought... if that is not it, then time is your only answer - which, I know, is NOT fun to wait... but this is just your body adjusting.
I usually have one protein shake a day. Most days it is 1 Scoop of Nectar Fuzzy Navel (its more like juice then a shake).
Other then that, I eat 3 protein rich meals a day and I usually get in about 80g depending on what I choose to eat for the day. Lots of lean meats (chicken, turkey) and I eat a considerable amount of lean dairy (low/no fat cheeses, carb yogurts or milk).
At first it was REALLY diffucult for me to get in that much, but my nut basically told me if I wasn't getting in more then 70 that I would stall frequently and for long periods of time. So I tried really hard for almost 2 weeks and now its is much eaiser to get it all in.
