MEDICAL ID BRACELET
I think it is vital to get one. A friend of mine was puking up blood 1.5 yrs after hving her surgery. They went to blindly stick an NG in her and she had to stop them because they were hurting her. Needless to say after that she now realizes that she should have and always wear a bracelet. She had three huge ulcers and she almost bled out!
I need to get this, I travel all around the world and who knows what may happen, especially when in a country where english is not the native language. I've avoided it so far but since I move back into my travel world on Monday, this is my weekend goal.
I hate wearing bracelets and know it wont be on me for more than an hour. So I will probably get something engraved for my keychain(s), a card for my wallet/passport and who knows what else I'll find.
Thanks for the reminder and prompt to get this done!
Hiya Rosa
I did decide to get a medical id bracelet. There is a girl that I met on the main boards that makes them. I ordered one from her. She makes them so that they are colorful and not "generic" looking, for lack of a better word. She is engraving as follows:
RNY GASTRIC BYPASS
NO NSAIDS
NO BLIND NG TUBE
some people also put their dr's information on the back as well.
I personally thought it's better to be safe than sorry. I hope that this helps and if you would like to know any more about who I had make me one, please email me.
Best wishes for a bright day --
