What are you eating?
I'm fairly new to the boards and had surgery 1/27/06. Lost 26.5 lbs so far! I'm curious to know what you all are able to eat now? I'm allowed to be experimenting with things from the soft food phase, but I'm getting kind of bored already. What are you guys eating that allows you to get a decent amount of protein? Any treats that you've found tolerable? I'm really getting sick of yogurt, cottage cheese...! Also, I'm looking for a good protein powder that doesn't taste like garbage and doesn't have a million calories. Are there any that don't have much flavor that could be added to things? Thanks so much for the help!

Hi Amy! Welcome to the Board, we're a huge family here
Everyday either Kay or Amber post Whatcha Eating Today or something like that and those that reply, post their memus for the day... its a great idea grabber.
When I was in the pureed stage, I was able to tolerate tuna and scrambled eggs, I could have ricotta cheese as well. How long do you have to be on the stage? Personally, the pureed/soft was the hardest for me, now I can do whatever lol. You can also take some chicken/meat and put it in the blender to make it really fine... then chew chew chew. That's what saved me!
Can't help ya much on brands of protein. I put mine in pudding and freeze it to make pudding ice cream. I just couldn't drink it, but in the pudding its all good!
Hope this helps!

Thanks, Jaci! I'll look for the whatcha eating post! I'm really needing some ideas. I'm actually allowed to add whatever I want as tolerated. I just haven't been tolerating much! I'm able to eat chicken, fish...without pureeing it, as long as it's cut small and I chew it to death. Beef isn't my friend anymore! I'm jealous of the people I see that are able to eat pasta. That used to be a favorite of mine and now it doesn't go down so well! In time, I guess...
Ok, I just discovered Protein Delight (shake). I got it in the choc/coconut. It is VERY good. I have had a horrible time finding a good shake but this one is awesome. I mix it with 8oz water and about 6-7 ice cubes in the blender. Its like a slush. Hope this helps.

* forgot to mention it has 20g protein and only 120 cal.
Hi Amy,
Welcome to the board we are always glad to welcome a new person. I like the Whey protein mixes from GNC. I've tried the Chocolate Caramel, Strawberry & Banana Creme and love them.
When I was in that stage I ate cottage cheese, eggs, soup, salmon, chicken in the can and mashed potatos. It can be tough but hang in there.
