My scales where off because of the cold....

When I got off here last night I said something is not right, and I read the papers on my new scales, and sure enough cold and heat can effect the reading. I keep my scales in my bedroom which I don't heat, can't stand heat when I am sleeping. And this is where I placed my scales, well, this a.m. I got up and placed the scales in the heated bathroom and gave them time to warm up before getting on them. And sure enough I am at 279.6 not 251.6, so they are touchy when it comes to cold or heat, just like the papers say they are. Hugs, Lynda I can still reach my goal of 250 by April, I know that.

Never even thought about the heat and cold effecting the reading! You still have an incredible weight loss Lynda! Keep up the great work! *~*Jaci*~*

Stupid scales. I'm ready to put mine away and just use a tape measure for awhile anyway. I think it will be better for my mental health in the long run

I dont really trust my scale at home. I have a nutriton center near my home which lets me weigh on their large digital scale whenever I like... which is nice, because it reads exactly the same as the one at my surgeons office... perhpas you could weigh once a week at a place like that. It would give you a more accurate assement of your progress.

SCALES! I wish I wasn't addicted to them. I am glad you are staying positive. I would have been depressed! Keep up the good work. Leeanne

I am not letting it get me down, even though that would have been nice, I just thank God the scales keep going down and not up like years ago. You all know, when we yo-yo dieted from one diet to the next, we would lose a few pounds and than the scales would tell us we gained back 5 or 10 pounds, change to a different diet and the same thing. NOW that gets upsetting and depressing. I know younger people will loose at a faster rate than me, so when I see a 20 something post they lost 45 pounds the first month, that doesn't bother me, I know there metabolisms are working better than Granny's and I am happy for them, that they did not wait until their 50s or 60s to do the surgery. My scales are dead on now that they are warm, and I know what you mean about looking down at the regular scales and trying to figure out is that 279 or is it 283, the eyes are getting a little harder to see that thin line from 5 foot away. Thanks for all the encouragement and support without each of you this would be a very difficult journey alone. Hugs, Lynda
