True lemon question
Please excuse my ignorance but I am curious to know how this product is different than plain old lemon juice? I looked at the website and i feel like I missed a memo. I guess I was one of those people that thought if "it tastes like chicken",just eat the chicken! Is it sweetened? Is it like lemonaid? I buy the big bottles of lemon juice for cooking and lemonaid...What am I missing?
Hi Valerie!
You missed the memo, eh?
Ok, I'll fill you in.
It is plain citrus juice (lemon/lime), just crystallized. The boxes I bought have 40 packets in them each and I believe it states that each packet is the equivalent of two wedges. I'll have to look again to be sure I'm giving you the correct info.
No, it's not sweetened. Think of simply adding lemon or lime wedges to your water (or to whatever).
The benefits: It's portable...take the packets anywhere. I can see dumping a packet in a bottle of water when I'm out and about.
It's cheaper than the actual fruit. I no longer live in CA where lemons and limes were everywhere including my backyard...I'm now in MI where they ream us (pardon the pun!
) in terms of price for fresh lemons and limes.
Seems like it would be really good sprinkled on poultry or fish too...very easily. I guess you could squeeze lemons, too...but where is the fun in that?
Oh and no pesky seeds to pick out of your food!
I really feel that anything artificially sweetened (as in Splenda/Nutrasweet) is too sickeningly sweet since WLS. I have been drinking the lemon/lime water since I bought the packets last night and for me...
that's a good thing. (doing a Martha impression)
