Has anyone tried ProStat 64?

Hey! Since I am SOO BAD getting in protein (cannot/will not do the shakes), someone recommended ProStat 64 to me. They said it is pretty bad tasting stuff but you drink just a shot glass amount (you can drink it like a shot) and it is 15 grams of protein per shot. I figure I can handle nasty tasting stuff quickly rather than drinking a whole shake (all of them make me sick, sick, sick). I would love to hear if anyone else has tried it though! Anyone? Thanks! Jersey Mom, I thought the same thing you did...hey, how bad could getting 30 ccs be, even if it's nasty? I bought a bottle (and accidentally got a second bottle, which I couldn't drink because it's not the SF type) and tried it twice. Twice. Neither time could I tolerate it and I'm pretty good when it comes to taking medicine or other things "Just suck it up and take it!" (my motto). However, I was reduced to wimpy status with this stuff. It's positively vile. (no offense to anyone who likes it...it's just not my thing!) It's very thick, the consistency of honey or thick cough syrup. It made me gag and I'm not a "gaggy" person. Secondly, the form of protein is not the best for us in terms of bioavailability, though I realize doctors do recommend it (my own surgeon, no exception). I have the bottle sitting here on a shelf. Of course, it's opened (minus the 60ccs I tried to choke down) but if you want it, it's YOURS! Just email me offlist, if you want it...I can send it to you. If you aren't interested, it's up for grabs if anyone else is! Chele

I didn't think GNC had Prostat...I ordered it online. live and learn Jersey Mom, I also have lots of Profect here www.profect.com and I will send you some of those vials to try too. Additionally, I forgot to add that there is a product called Isopure Zero Carb that is sold in bottles at GNC. I bought a bottle of it this past weekend and I think it's tolerable (over ice). I got the idea from Ronna :waves: Hi Ronna! as I know she uses it too. Chele

COPPER! That's it! YES! Couldn't put my finger on it. Ok, I'll try mixing it with Crystal Light. Thanks for the tip! Chele

Yep that's the way! Crystal Lite Lemonade makes the Isopure go down easy. In fact, I'm drinking some now

Judie, I like them alright, I guess. I thought they were better tasting before WLS, but I can get them down. I don't drink them regularly, as they are collegen based protein and not whey protein (which is superior for us to absorb). I just thought Jersey Mom would like to try them, so I don't mind tossing her one of each flavor in the box. Chele

I just read on the Isopure Zero Carb...how bad is it without the Crystal Light? I need to get protein in myself, and I was also wondering which Crystal Light works with the drink? I was thinking of picking up some for me just until I get into the solid foods. Thanks! Kelli

It isn't too bad. Just keep it really chilled. It also depends on the flavor. I didn't like the grape cause it tasted like watered down koolaid. But I liked some of the others Vitamin Shoppe has that and the Nectar! ::hugs:: Cyndi
