Oh geez this is going to be horrible. I have lost only 4 pounds since my last doctors visit 3 weeks ago. I go in tomorrow and thank goodness I have kept a log of my eating and exercise. I havent lost anything in over 18 days. I am ready for some sort of answers as to why. My husband thinks I need some carbs so I switched from my egg for breakfast to some cream of wheat. It is frustrating. I took my measurements a while back but now need to find my tape measure. really not feeling a difference in my clothes so doubt that is going to show a great change. Meanwhile my husband continues to chart what he eats and is losing on average of 4#a week and is almost to his goal. Sorry for whining so early in the morning Kim

no huge loss right out...16# at my first checkup at 3 weeks. My surgeon said that was right on target. I have noticed I am thinner around the middle and DH says my butt is getting flatter. we will see what the doc has to say tomorrow. maybe she can make a few suggestions or shed some light on the problem. kim

I had 3 weeks that I never lost anything! I was soooo frustrated. I have started to loose again now. But it felt like it took forever! Leeanne

I had 3 weeks that I only lost 4 lbs and now I have lost 10 in 6 days. Those stalls are the worst. I eat cream of wheat or oatmeal for breaskfast atleast 5 times a week and again for a late snack if my tummy is really rumbling.

well maybe it is going to break soon. it just isnt real encouraging this soon after surgery. If there was something I could do to change it I would but will just have to see what the doctor says tomorrow. One thing might be holding me up is I should have had my period 2 weeks after surgery and still havent had one. Never in my life had I wished I would just start!!! But now I feel like if I did it might get the loss started again Kim

I get about 60 protein, and lucky to get in 600 calories. I do think it averages more like 500 according to fitday. according to the handout from my doctor her diet comes up to 700 cal but not to exceed 850. I just cannot eat the amount of food on that chart yet. I use nectar protein and drink my fluids, walk 2 miles 5 days a week and am very active during the day. I probably could try a protein bar to up my calorie count but havent found any I like that well and besides I just dont know when I could fit it in my meal plan any help would be appreciated

The only thing I can think of Kim is.....are you getting in your fluids? If so drink some more..it really helps. Also try and up your protein, not so much the calories but up the protein rather than the carbs. Good luck the weight will come off, I PROMISE! Regards and hugs,

I am getting in my fluids, I could try to drink a bit more. actually drank regular water today for the first time since surgery. it tasted good this time. I could try getting another protein drink in too. Nectar only has 90 cal. but I am a bit leary on it after I puked it up last week. it is kind of trial and err isnt it. kim

Sorry, Kim. I do understand the frustration. 18 days is a long time. I have been at the same weight for over a week now. What do you think about the theory that if one is plateauing, they should increase calories for a day or so? I have been reading about plateaus and that seems to be the general consensus. My DH has been eating less by proxy (since I had WLS) and he has lost weight too...and he is beaming about it! I'm happy for him, but I always tease him and tell him, "I'm glad I had the surgery for you! Glad I could help!" Keep on keepin' on...that's all we can do, right? Chele
