Food for work

Ok, thought I would ask you all, since we are closer to the same food levels. First, only chicken doesn't sit well with me and I have started adding veggies to my meals. I do drink protein drinks, but as a snack. This is my problem. I am going back to work, but I work as a truck driver. I don't haul freight, I work in the entertainment industry. My first trip will only be about 4 days, sort of a dry run. In my truck I will have a cooler that plugs in and keeps things 30 degrees lower than the air it sits in. I have no way to cook anything. I eat while I drive, can't stop every couple of hours to eat. I do stop at night at a truck stop, but that will be my only place to get food. I know I could eat cheese and crackers, but am trying to stay away from carbs right now. Veggies would be good, but how to keep them cold next to me, cooler is in the back. Maybe a smaller cooler. I would like to have jerky, so I thought of making some, never done that before, so a good recipe? I am taking yogart for breakfast, the usual breakfasts at the venue are eggs and donuts. As you can see, I would like to be prepared. If things don't go well, 3 or 4 days out wont kill me. But this will eventually become up to 3 months out at a time. Any thoughts or ideas would be great

You can have eggs and cheese for breakfast. I would pack some Power Crunch Bars, String Cheese. Cans of low carb SlimFast. Baby Carrots are good to munch on and don't need to be real cold. And how about Jerky? Doesn't need to be kept cold and good source of protein. You can also get Chili at Wendy's!!! A good lunch or dinner Good luck. This will be tricky. Regards and hugs, Ronna

Some truck stops have Wendy's, so that is something I will look for. Love the chili. I'll have to get the string cheese. Thanks

Hadn't thought about the tuna packs. I use to take them with me for emergency's. Also the string cheese is a good idea. Always look for Wendy's, I would live off their chili if I could.

I buy turkey jerky from walmart, havent had any problems eating it, just have to chew well... here are some other ideas: Cheese (string, laughing cow light, low fat cottage cheese) Pre-cooked turkey meatballs Deli meats, thin sliced Yogurt Power Crunch protein bars (low carb) Soy Crips P'nut butter (in moderation) Turkey Pepperoni Nuts (in moderation if allowed by your doc) Crystal Light to-go packets Carb Countdown Milk Low Fat Cream Cheese (i am guilty of eating teaspoons straight) Have fun on your trip

I haven't been able to find the turkey pepperoni. That would be a great meal also. Thanks
