I'm stressing!

Ok guys, please make me feel at ease. For the past week I have been in such a slump. I have been treating my husband like crap and yelling at the kids, don't even ask how mean I have been to the dog! Anyway, all this rage stems from the fact that I think I am having a horrible 2nd month post op. How much weight have you lost JUST in the 2nd month? I lost 31 the first month and so far only 10 this month. I still have 7 days left but I don't see myself getting anywheres close to what I lost last month. What ****** me off the most is that this month my activity has been through the roof. I generally burn way more calories than I even consume, so how is it possible that I'm loosing less than last month when I sat on the couch healing?? I just want to cry. I need a hug. Dawn

I lost 22 pounds the first month and 10 the second. I am on my way to 9 or 10 for the third. Doc said 10 to 15 is a good level to hit. I have changed a few things that I hope gives me the extra 5 a month. But 10 is where we should be loosing, so you are fine. I was stressing too. Doc said at this level, there is almost no chance of problems down the road with malnutrition. It is the right way to loose. So you are not alone in this level. I wi**** was more also. I have moved away from protein first. I now eat veggies as a snack and one of my meals. I have seen a little bit of change and think this will help me loose a little faster. I also exercise every day at the gym, except this last week when I was sick.

I really get disgusted thinking I should have lost more, but it will come off in time. nothing is never easy for me. Hang in there Rosemary

BIG HUGS DAWN! I am having the same experience you are....almost exactly. I don't know that I have any words of encouragment except to say that we need to keep doing what we're doing. It's got to budge sometime. We'll make it through... Chele

Hi Dawn, I had my surgery the same day as you. I also lost 30 pounds the first month. This second month absolutely sucks. I was doing ok, then stalled, then lost 7 pounds and the next time I stepped on the scale I was 7 pounds heavier - how the heck does that happen. I don't know but it sucks, sucks, sucks! As it stands now I am down about 37 pounds. I just want to eat all kinds of crap that I should not. I am saying to myself , I am not losing weight so why not???????? I am tired of the freakin gross drinks - they are all gross - all of them! Hugs and Blessing to you! Jen

I posted about this on the main board too. I figured I could use the advice of some "old heads". It seems that this is quite normal. Most people said that they loose about 10 pounds a month, so to not be discouraged. I guess if you figure 10 pounds a month for 18 months...that's 180 pounds! Don't feel bad about that loss and gain, the same thing happened to me but with 4 pounds. I stood on the scale and removed each piece of clothing until those 4 pounds went back off...it worked Dawn

Dawn, are you talking about me? If not, you could have been. My 2nd month was horrible. And it put me in a bad mood. My 2 month mark was today and I only lost 15 pounds this month. So I went back and checked and with 7 days left in my 2nd month, I had only lost 11 pounds. My weight loss just started to pick back up. Yours will too. But believe me hon, I KNOW how frustrating it can be. Much luck, Kristi
