I lost twenty seven pounds the two weeks I was in the hospital and since then I have only lost about 8 pounds and I lose and gain each pound several times before It stays gone. I am not the worlds most patient person and I want the weight gone, NOW. I know it takes time but I need to blow off some steam. Hazel

I totally understand. Remember the first big pounds you loose also includes alot of water weight. After that if does slow down. I went for 3 weeks without losing a single pound and was furious. It will happen. People told me this and I thought, well maybe not for me. But it has picked back up. You won't probably ever lose as much at a time as you did the first couple of weeks or so. The average seems to be between 10-15 lb.s a month from what I understand. Hang in there! Leeanne

My doctor just told me yesterday that if I only lost 6# a month she would consider that a good number. Was that what I wanted to hear.....ugh no I want MORE. I only lost 6# in 3 weeks but am hoping to have a loss show soon. I do know my clothes are starting to hang differently kim

Hey Hazel: I was exactly where you were! I lost 19 lbs in the week after my surgery...and then a couple more lbs and did not lose a single lb in over a week! Maybe it was because my body was adjusting or maybe it was because I started walking on most days...but the stall finally broke and I lost 6 lbs in the past week! Go figure! I KNOW the stalls suck big time but just remember it is temporary. Have a great day! Jersey Mom

I found the flucuation in weight day to day and it frustrated me and caused unnecessary anxiety. My doctor suggested I stay off the scale and only weight myself once a week...it has helped a lot with the anxiety and I look forward to Wednesday when I allow myself to weigh.

Hazel, I have been doing EXACTLY the same, and it is frustrating. I have noticed even when the weight is coming off slow, though, the clothes are getting larger pretty fast still. Have you counted those inches yet? Sandy L

Hi Hazel I have 4 words of wisdom for you. STEP AWAY FROM THE SCALE. Don't make yourself crazy sweetie. The weight will come off as long as you're doing your part. Get in your protein, drink all your fluid and excersise when you can. Remember you didn't swallow a "magic bullet" you had major surgery and your body needs some time to adjust. You had a lot of time to get to the weight you were before surgery and now give yourself permission to take the time to lose it! It will come off I PROMISE In the meantime. Take your measurements and then remeasure every week or so. You will be amazed Regards and hugs, Ronna
