little wows
Hi all-
Just needed to share my little wows for this morning. I just finally looked up my BMI and I am no longer morbidly obese, just obese (yeah!). I started this process at a BMI of 45 and am now at a 36.5 (or a 37 if you use my doctor's scale, but I figure my first thing in the morning naked weigh in is more accurate - at least that is what I tell myself!). Also, I am able to wear heels for the first time in years. I had such ankle, arch and heel pain for so long if I even wore anything but my clunky, rubber soled, sneaker type shoe. Today I have on 2" heels (wore them on Monday for the whole day too) and I'm able to walk!! Yipee!! I also have to say I have found a great community both virtual and in person having this surgery. I work in a hospital (a well respected facility in Boston) where they have a weight center and do many of these surgeries every day. Well, I had no idea how many of my co-workers had this done. They are all reaching out to me, offering clothes and an ear to bend when I have a tough day. It has really been great. I don't feel like a freak or have to hide my surgery at work which is such a relief! Anyway, I'm having a good day and just wanted to say Hi and share! Take care all!
