I am loving oranges the past few days. My dr said they were ok to eat, but Im not sure if its ok to eat 3 or 4 a day. I usually dont eat the pulp. I gum it for the juice. Any thoughts? Elsa

moderation in all foods. What is the calorie and sugar in an orange and how does it keep your protein intake down?

Couldn't tell you whether it's too many or not because I'm not allowed to eat citrus fruit for many months. If I were you, I would plug it into Fitday.com to see how many carbs and sugar you're consuming. I think most surgeons stand similarly on the "protein first" platform, so you might want to make sure you're eating the oranges after you've already eaten your protein. Good luck! Lisa S.

You're talking orange juice....which is high in sugar. However, it's fructose, so.... I would think if it is going to bother you it already would have. Mmmmm that sounds good. I miss OJ! Chele

we absorb sugar very easily, even frutose. Just see how it is affecting you, slowing down your weightloss or interfering with other stuff you should be eating. If it is all fine, then there should be no problem. I am staying away from fruit, my weightloss is slow enough, not going to chance the frutose setting me back.

Hi Elsa! When I eat oranges I just gum them too. I chew the pulp down as far as I can and don't swallow the excess. My doesn't limit the fruits, but wants me to get 80 gr of protein... so the oranges and fruits are kinda like treats for me lol. I sure love them though! *~*Jaci*~*
