Same thing here... I keep replying the same thing it seems like everyone is in the same boat as 'us'... I get depressed about it, because some days I have 'good' days when I keep everything down. But most days are if I eat anything besides liquids then I know I am gonna have to visit the bathroom and throw up Makes me sad sometimes, because I miss food greatly, but my friend had the surgery 2 months before me and she is doing great, she said she went through the same thing as I am, and it passes. All we can do is have patience I guess. It's awful hard though isn't it? I wish you luck and I'm sure we will all complain some day 2 years from now that we are eating too much! :0) Best Wishes, Alicia

Hi Deborah- I am a few weeks ahead of you in the process (surg was 1/3). I know that I had a period around the 5-8 or 9 week marks that I was having an awful time with the food. I was throwing up every night, had an aversion to most foods, water felt like lead in my stomach, etc. In talking with my surgeon and nutritionist it seemed there were several things going on. 1. that is "normal" for this stage in healing. They said that things would get easier somewhere around weeks 8-10 and they have. 2. my doc said every time I threw up I made thjngs (pouch) swell even more making food even more difficult to pass. She said after each episode of vomitting to go back to liquids for 48 hours before trying a solid again - this really helped, and 3. dehydration makes you nauseous too. Add all of these things up and they make for several yucky weeks. THings do seem to turn around though. After three plus weeks of vomitting almost daily I'm now at a point that I vomit maybe two times a week and usually because I ate too fast or pushed that last bite (my head is still fighting with my body big time). Drinking is getting easier in the last week or so which also helps. Good luck and I hope you turn the corner soon! take care Eileen
