Am I the slowest loser?!
mine was 1/4 and I am down 34 1/2 as of today. Pretty slow. But I sped it up. I started eating more veggies. Salads mostly. I still get my protein, but thru shakes, 200 calories a day for 50 gram. I get some protein thru food also, meats and cheese and yogart. But since I started this, I have averaged 1lb a day for 5 days now. Going to keep up with this.
Oh and I go to the gym 7 days a week for an hour. I get all my water, always have. So the veggies seem to be the ticket.
Remember, look at the dressing when having salads, they can have as many calories as a small hamberger.
I had surgery January 30, 2006 the past 2 weeks I have worked out drank water , took all my vitamins and most of the days ate all my protein. But the scale is frozen........Finally I lost 2 pounds over night. hurray. I am down 28 pounds today....I thought I would be down more. But my surgeon said since I lost alot of weight before surgery my weight lost will probably be slowly. He even went to say depending on your weight at surgery every one loses a differnet amount after surgery. I was told maybe 80 to 100 pounds with alot of work. I am hoping for the 100lbs. I go back to work monday....Part of me wants to go back to be able to communicate with my peers. But part of me says na I will probably get tired to easily and Im going to miss taking my time.. I am a social worker and activity director for a Skilled Nursing, Assisted Living and Independent Living Facility and kept very busy on my toes. I will have to remember to take my breaks and fuel up often......Have a nice day everyone.......

Greetings Deb,
I know that has to be frustrating, but you ARE losing so that is a positive thing. Think of it this way. Those that lose it fast have a harder time trying to recover from sagging skin as they do not get a chance to shrink as they lose. *Raises her hand* They also have a higher risk of gall stones. I am proud of you for your loss so far. I think it's awesome you even made the choice and are having success.
I have a co-worker that is getting frustrated because she had surgery two weeks before me and I have lost 55 lbs and she 35. I have to remind her as well that it depends on what you have to lose in the first place. Maybe those of us that are losing faster have much more to lose than you do so it will come off quicker.
Excersize is another thing. I joined a gym and know that this has helped me out immensely. I am not saying you are doing anything wrong, in fact I bet that you are not doing anything wrong, your body just likes to hang onto what it has, but you are losing. YEAH!
Remember slow and steady wins the race.......
