I agree about the caliber of people on this January board. Everyone is so sweet and supportive -- it is an amazing and safe place to come for advice, support, laughter or hugs. I also have a great time posting on the California board as it is also filled with warm, great people (plus we are able to have events and I have been able to meet some of these great people in person), but there is something even more special on this board because we are all in the same place in our journey. If we didn't all hold each other up, we might all fall down! I am glad I have kind of come out of lurkdom myself and have started posting here more and more. Thanks guys! Beth

You are so right! Even though my surgery date is technically Dec 27, I feel the support of the January group since this board is so active. Anyway, I am grateful for the chance to be here. I will also have to try posting on the CA board. I live in in the San Francisco Bay area, but Beth, I was raised right near you in Alhambra! Small world, eh? Diana

Diana, I live right on the border of S. Pas and Alhambra, and in my teenage years hung out with a few people from Alhambra high school!! San Francisco is beautiful, though. There is a whole group of people from Northern Cali who also post on the California board, and they have events, meet at Starbucks, etc. You should definitely check it out!! Beth

Karyn, welcome to the January board (glad you came out of ). The people on this board are wonderful. You can be completely truthful and know that you are in a safe place. Although people will disagree with you on things, there has been no "flaming". Everyone is very respectful of our members. Glad you're here!! Lisa S.
