I don't know what happened
Just wanted to continue my previous post as all of it did not post. I suck on computers and don't understand how I can type things in this message area and it all shows up here but when you submit it only half shows up.
Basically my message was to let you know I am feeling so much better and am getting an appetite (still not able to tolerate meat and eggs) and feeling like a human again since I have finally found a protein substance that works for me ( I was feeling like a failure and feeling like I let my kids down and was questioning why I had this surgery in the first place). My message to the rest of you that have been struggling with protein is to not give up, keep searching and trying new things. Once you are able to get in the protein and fluid you will start feeling better and will have more energy to do even the simplist things that now wear you out. Good luck to you all and wish you all great success in your weight loss journey.

HI Deb,
Glad to hear you are doing better. I agree that one has to search for proteins that work. Its OK not to eat meat or eggs! I eat a lot of beans and they work well for me and have lots of iron, too.
A good site is www.highproteinfoods.net to get even more ideas.
Wishing you well,
Tiffany
Hi Chele,
I found these wonderful protein meal replacement bars by southbeach. Each bar has 19g protein and less than 1g sugar. Since they were the only protein supplement that stayed down, I now seem to have an appetite again and able to tolerate cereals (special K has one out with 10g protein), and able to eat Wendy's chili. I still love my popsicles but they have no protein but acts as a source of fluid for me. I drink lots of milk a day, at least 16-20 ounces. Not much else have worked for me, but I am at least trying new things and not experiencing the this is too sweet, the metalic tasting and the puking that used to be associated with food.
Thanks for asking,
Deb
Hi Renee,
No typo here. I found these bars in the pharmacy sports nutrtion section. The box says South Beach Diet Meal Replacement Bars. I have only tried the Chocolate Peanut Butter, but they do have chocolate on chocolate and cinamon and creame. They have 210 calories, 19g of protien and less than 1g of sugar. Absolutely delicious bars and made a major change in my recovery process. My nutritionist say they are great for me and just warned that because it does have 17g of sugar alchohal it will give you gas and possibly diarrhea. Honestly, even with that it is only a small side effect in comparison to the way I was feeling prior to discovering these bars.
