I know it's not a good idea to have bread (unless it's toasted) but can we have wraps? Low carb, wheat? I really miss the sandwhich type foods. Of course I miss PIZZA. I just want 1 slice, but scared to eat it, of course I would take a thin slice, but still scared. I mean I have not had any problem with any foods at all. I don't wanna pu**** I just want to know about the wraps. Melissa Monday will be 8 weeks out.

I have eaten wraps 4 different times and had no problems at all. Twice ---- at Freebirds (one wrap was a cayene and the other spinach and both had fajita chicken inside etc..avacado's...blah blah), Subway and Schlotzsky's----. Of course only a small portion was eaten, but it was filling and satisfying. I also ate a toasted chicken salad sandwich at Cafe Express and it was great also. I tried a hamburger with an untoasted bun and thought I was having a heart attack..... I can't eat any bread that is not toasted or thin like a wrap.

Hi Melissa! I'm not supposed to introduce complex carbs until month 5.... but I was in a crunch last week and tried those South Beach wraps that Susan suggested- they were great! I didn't have any problems, but ate super slow. I'd love some pizza too! In fact a couple weeks ago a took a tiny bite and ate it, but it didn't taste the same as I remembered- haven't wanted any since. FYI: The SB Wraps are a wheat tortilla.... *~*Jaci*~*

Melissa, I would defer to your surgeon's guidelines on this. I am also not allowed bread-type carbs until month 5, toasted or not. I do know others on this site are able to eat wraps, pizza, etc, but I wouldn't do it without consulting your doctor first. As Cara said, there is a danger of it getting stuck in your stoma and you don't want that! Lisa S.

I'll also toss in that you should consider what it is you're eating and chew it very well.....which just means you get to savor every single minute of it!! White flour is bad for you thin or heavy, WLS or not. So choose whole grain and firmer breads/tortillas. I'd agree that a thinner crust pizza is going to be better as its cooked more, less doughy.

I had a wrap at Subway and it was delish...I had no prolems. I ate half for lunch and half for dinner on the same day. The good thing about Subway is even though there are carbs in the wrap you van make sure there are not additional carbs inside the wrap. Mmmm...now I want a wrap for dinner. Thanks a lot!!! Dawn

I make pizza using small low carb tortilla. I toast it in a pan w/ a tiny bit of olive oil ( you could use pam) then when it is nice and crispy I add pizza sauce (low carb),cheese, peperoni and whatever veggies I want. Nuke it for about 45 seconds. It tastes great!

I had half a low carb jalapeno tortilla today with a little chicken and jalapeno hummus. It was really good, but the key for me is to take tiny bites and go really slow. Chele
