My picky pouchie
I am 9 weeks out 3/20. I am doing great. Per my doc I have been adding new foods to my diet.
I cannot eat chicken in any form. It makes me very ill.
However I can eat italian sausage without a bit of distress.
I can eat a Gordons fish filet easily but could not eat steamed cod at the resturant.
For the most part I am still on beans, eggs, cheese and yogurt.
Not complaining at all! Just wondering what/why/when this will settle down and be predictable!
Anyone else riding this rollercoaster?
Teresa

Our pouches are very sensitive at this point. Though I can eat chicken, there is no way I can eat eggs or beef at this point.
Everyone is different, but one thing I have noticed is that the more dense and dry the food is, the harder it is to keep down. Example: canned tuna moistened a bit with ff dressing sits fine with me, but if I try to eat a tuna steak with nothing on it, then there is trouble. So it may not be the food itself, but how dry and/or dense the food is.
But, you are not alone! And according to my PostOp guide it is common for some to not tolerate some foods until they are 4-6 months out.
Hi Teresa!
My pouch, now renamed
"Linda Blair"
after this weekend, is just nuts.... some days it's so behaved and nothing is really bothering it and other days, like this weekend, it refuses anything. One thing I noticed is that something that is fine once may not work the 2nd time. With me it's a try it and see game. I hate that, but I love the weight loss, so I just try and deal with it. It's frustrating, but oh well.... LOL
I wish you luck!! Hope it gets better for you!!

Hi Teresa
I think we all go through this to some extent. I also had trouble with chicken and didn't eat it for a whole month. But I tried it just the other day and it was just fine. I just made sure I ate really slow and didn't eat too much.
Per my surgeon, if something doesn't sit right, give it another try in a couple of weeks.
Keep trying and good luck!
Regards and hugs,
Ronna
