Advice needed!!:help:
Ok here is my promblem.............
I had RNY on Jan 17 th and I live in northern NY which means we have winter and lots of snow.Well my problem I am facing is do I give away all my winter clothes or do I keep them for next year ( just in case). My hubby says give them away since I won't be that size again. I want to give them away but there is part of me that says keep them for some odd reason.I need some advice.
Please tell me....... what do you think or what would do.Please and thanks. And am I the only going through this? I know in my head i won't be that size I gues it's a sercurity (sp) thing. I don't know. Thanks Tammy

Hi Tammy, i am also from NY, near Albany, and I am having the same struggle, I know I wont need them next winter, but for some reason I dont dare part with them, for fear i wont have money to buy anything new next year! I am going to keep at least 3 sweaters and bottoms, and pray I wont need them! You do what you are comfortable with. Take care!

I live in Michigan, so I know what you mean, it can get so cold, but if you want my advice, GIVE IT AWAY! That's what I'm doing. THERE IS NO WAY IN H*LL that come next year I am going to be any where near this size. I have sacraficed so much and worked way too hard to be near this size next year. It's such a relief to try some of my clothes on, realize they are too big and throw them in a box to give away. It's an awesome feeling! If you want to keep a sweater or two for sentimental value, go ahead, but liberate yourself and set yourself free!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well I did it I just got done going through my clothes.Man it was alot easier than i thought and I made a deal with my hubby I get all new next year his treat lol so heck it was easier than i thought. Bye Bye size 26/28 NEVER AGAIN WILL YOU SEE ME !!!!!

I feel so good now it's a great feeling.Thank you for the advice you guys are so right. Thanks Tammy

Tammy,
I live in central NY--(Elmira area) and I felt the same as you. However, I have decided to bring my clothes to a consignment shop. That way I can make some money to buy some new clothing in a smaller size. I won't get a lot for them, but I have already been buying smaller sizes at this shop so maybe it will even out in the end. I jokingly told the lady working there that I was going to be wearing the clothes for a short while & then bringing them back for her to re-sell. She said that wasn't a problem at all. The shop is near the hospital that I had my surgery at, so she's very familiar with the surgery. She says she's had several ladies that have done the same thing. You may want to look into it. It's better than having them sit on the floor of the Salvation Army until there's no more room for anything else.

Tammy,
I live in NJ so we see the seasons change as well. I plan on keeping a couple sweatshirts only because the think big sweats are comfy, especially when it is snowy outside! Everything else is being donated to Goodwill. Which is probably the same store I will go to come next fall when I need smaller sizes. (at least until my weightloss stops.)
