up and down

My weight loss is very erratic. Two weeks ago I gained 4 pounds and the following week I lost 10 pounds and this week I gained 1 pound. It's an overall loss, but it would be better for my motivation if it was a little every day instead of this two steps forward one step back crap.

oh, tell me about it! i wish i had a steady weight loss, but i know that if i do gain, i will lose it by the following day, week, or month. sometimes i really have to sit down and tell myself things like "this will work", or "follow your diet/exersice program to its fullest and you wont fail this time" for me, its hard to think those things because every other program before has failed me (or i failed it) so this time i have to be my biggest supporter.

I am so glad you posted this. I am the same way. I was up 6 pounds yesterday, down 4 today. I know some people would say we shouldn't weigh everyday then. But there are varying opinions on that as well. Just keep on keepin' on sister!! Leeanne

The first time I gained weight I didn't even post it and I didn't tell my mom or BF (who usually gets the update each day) because I thought I had done something horribly wrong. I wish now that I had because I think I would have gotten the support I needed to know that this happens to us all, and that we just have to stick to our program and the weight will come off. Our bodies may all have different ways of losing, but in the end we are going to lose the weight, ya know? Just hang in there and focus on the positives!! Beth

It's called "water flucktuations". Especially if you are still getting your period. You will experience changes in how your body holds on to water. Oddly enough the way to help your body release the water is to drink more water Don't fret, it's normal!!!!! Regards and hugs, Ronna

I agree with Ronna. Water fluctuation due to diet, hormones, the tides () whatever. If you weigh every day, chances are, you will witness an up and down along the scale numbers. As long as you are following a general trend over a period of time (say a week or even two weeks), you are doing fine! It's frustrating though, isn't it? Chele
