Hi there - I had surgery on 1/16/06 and have lost 61 lbs, I now weigh 215 and am VERY happy however for the last few weeks I have noticed especially when I wake up in the morning that my lower back right around my tailbone hurts very bad This morning it hurt so bad I couldnt bend over to pick up something and going up the stairs hurt as well--finally after about 2 hours it felt better but still tender. I never had this kind of back pain before--has anyone had this experience or something similar? Please let me know--I am going to talk to my surgeon at my next visit....... thanks for any imput Lori

Hi Lori, My tailbone hurts constantly, funny you mentioned that. Someone told me it was from all the fat you lose back their. Try a pillow or extra mattress pad on your bed. Carly

Hi Lori, I too have been having a lot of tailbone pain for the last few weeks. Not only that, but for the past two weeks I have been in major pain. My muscles and bones hurt like hell. It almost feels like I have the flu, but I don't. I have been wondering if this is part of the after affects of the surgery. I felt much better after the surgery, with the exception of the tailbone and the last two weeks. Sometimes when I get up in the morning or even get up from sitting, I walk like an old woman for a few minutes. I am still doing my walking, but man does it hurt for the first five minutes or so. Well anyway, hope you feel better soon. Hugs, Rosa

I have the answer, I believe the technical medical term for the malady we are suffering from is called "Noassatall Syndrome" It's Pronounced (No-Ass-At-All) And effects Januarieans at a disproportionately higher rate than the rest of the OH Population. April

I have experienced this also. In addition, I have had the added pleasure of my hips and surrounding tissue going to sleep (and doing that ice-pick *****ling) at night when I sleep on my side. I had read in lots of places that this is normal and we adjust eventually.
