New Vice (bad or good, depending on your doc's opinion)

Woaaaah momma is this delic!
I took the pop plunge I guess about a week ago, and finally allowed myself some. I put lots of ice in it and let it sit out an hour or two or as long as it takes to get most of the carbonation out.
It isn't caffeine free, and it does have sodium in it. I am going to have to limit myself, but I just wanted to confess my new vice.
Forgive me for loving this stuff!
Does anyone else drink soda/pop? I never did, but then I realized that if you take out the carbonation, there shouldn't be much difference between that and other diet soft drinks.

I've never cared for soda. I would take a tall glass of Iced Tea any day over a carbonated beverage. However, I had tried the Diet Cherry Vanilla Dr. Pepper preop and loved it. That would be a great "treat" when your craving something sweet.
I don't know if my doc gave restrictions on soda. He said, "eat whatever you want as long as it's not fried, cooked in fat, or high in fat." He also said to eat until I am full and not to measure. I have to learn to listen to my body and not depend on measuring cups. Seems to me surgeons are either strick or easy going, there is no inbetween.
