Tooting my own horn... WOW moment!!!

First off remember that I was a light weight going into this surgery. I only weighed 230 when I started the whole process, but my asthma was really bad and I was developing other health problems. SOOO... here is my wow moment.... Well I had a shock right now. I had been thinking about my vacation to North Carolina and how much weight I will lose before then and OMG.... Right now it's about 18 weeks till my vacation. On average I have been losing abut 4.0 lbs a week. I figure in the next month or so I could stall or slow down but even if I lose at a rate of 2.0 lbs a week I could be down another 36 lbs. I would only weigh... 134lbs!!!! That just made my jaw drop. Thats almost my goal weight. In six months I will have lost enough to be at my GOAL weight! In fact right now I'm only 3 lbs from being "moderately overweight" vs. the obese that I am now. It's weird how the wording plays tricks on your mind. Well anyways. I just had to post this... It's like a MAJOR WOW moment for me! Dana

Hey Chele, My asthma is soooo much better. I hardly ever use my rescue inhaler maybe once every two weeks and almost always forget to take my advair (longterm steriodal inhaler). I talked to my doc about it and he said when I reach my goal weight we will play with my meds to see if I still really need them. I can't believe what a change this is for me. I even got a cold the other week and still didn't have asthma problems. The docs always said that I would probably grow out of my asthma when I got older but when I got older I put on more and more weight so that is probably why I didn't see an improvement. Dana

Dana~ That is great!! Just keep doing what your doing and you'll be wearing the cutest outfits on vacation!! My mind plays tricks on me too. Like when I go to the link on here that gives you an estimation of what to expect, it says I won't even make it to goal in 18 months. But if I do the math myself and loose 10 pounds a month (which is less than what I have been averaging) I'll be at goal by 1 year. If I loose 15 a month (what I AM averaging) I'll be at goal by Oct. Go figure! Dawn
