feel bad everytime I eat. 9 weeks out
Any ideas, I get very nausea amost everytime I try to eat. I slime like crazy when I take my pills. I tell everyone that I am doing great, but... The truth is I usually feel badly after I eat for at least 1/2 hour, the smell of food reminds me of morning sickness. I only did protein shakes yesterday, I was just tired of feeling bad. The protein shakes are very, very hard also. I gag them down. I am very happy about the 33 lbs I have lost, but I am a little worrried that eating is so not fun at all!
HI J Marie,
I am in the exact same spot you are-- every time I eat anything other than liquids I get very uncomfortable. I have so little energy and less stamina before this all began. Granted I've lost 58#s since surgery 1-19 but I'd love to feel good!!!
Keep me posted if you find a solution and I will do the same. Keep the faith-- this too shall pass- I hope!!

The past few days I have been feeling icky when I eat too! Tonight I had the heaves and of course all had already passed but I still felt like poo. I think mine lasted for about an hour or so. I also realize this just started probably 4 days ago and it seems to just be my evening meal. I am going to try drinking my hot tea before my evening meal to see if that helps any. I hope yours gets better, let us know how you are feeling.

Hey J Marie:
I am with you. Ever since the surgery, every time I eat I get nauseous. Well, actually, this week I *have* gotten a little better. I am so sorry you are going through it but know that you are not alone! Maybe in a week or so it will ease up, as it did for me.
I, too, cannot drink the protein shakes (and I refuse to try anymore). What I *do* drink are the Profect vials. They, too, are gross but they are only 5 sips of gross rather than a whole shake of gross (they come on 2.7 ounce vials...25 grams of protein...zero carbs...100 calories!). I swear by them!
Congratulations on your weight loss and keep smiling...it will get better!
Love and hugs,
Jersey Mom
Hey Chele!
Thanks so much again! Although I would not go as far as to say I *like* them, they are working great for me!
The only flavor that is okay to me is the Blue Rasperry. The others were...iiiick.
When I went to a post-op support group there was a doctor there and I showed her the vial. I told her the concern over the protein type but she said it was absolutely fine for post-ops. And...on the vial it says "patent pending blend of enzymatically hydrolyzed (predigested) collagenic protein isolate, whey protein isolate and casein protein isolate.
Did they change the ingredients from only collagenic protein to the mix stated above or am I missing something? Wouldn't be the first time!!
Thanks again!!
Jersey Mom

No, they haven't changed the ingredients (as far as I know!). Some doctors feel that we as WLSers shouldn't use collegen proteins as the only protein supplementation...but whey, primarily. I know there is whey in Profect as well though.
I really liked Profect prior to surgery but since surgery, I have to dilute it in Crystal Light to tolerate it. I used to like the green one, but now

Thanks for you support. I know that I am not the only one. My evening meal is the worst, probablely since I am trying to eat real food and probabley too fast. BTW, I have started eating prunes, 5 prunes is less than 10 grams of sugar and so far that has reallly helped be being regular. I am sure each one of us just has to find out what works for us and then DO IT. God bless and thanks for your support. J. Marie
I had my surgery the same day as you. I am actually having the same problem as I type this. My daughter is home visiting, so we went to our favorite Italian restaraunt for dinner. I knew I couldn't eat pasta so I ordered filet mignon. It was so tender--it melted in my mouth. (I made sure it was cooked without butter). It's been about an hour & I'm still in agony. I was sure that I chewed it well, but maybe I ate it too fast?? I have been catching myself chewing enough, but swallowing quickly and then taking my next bite. I have to make sure that I put my fork down between bites or I feel yucky. I know tonite I didn't do that because I was so hungry when we got there. Right now it hurts when I drink water.
Do you think that could be part of your problem?
