Debra, It doesn't happen every time I eat or drink, but does happen some, especially if I took too big a swallow or bite. If it keeps up, or if you start throwing up with it, I would call the doctor. In the meantime, slow down a little. Sandy L

Hi Debra - It happens to me every once in a while if I eat to big a bite or drink too much at one time. My doc says it's just my body's way of telling me to slow down, but by all means if it continues and is really painful check with your doctor. Kim

Debra, it happes to me if I don't chew enough or if I take one too many bites. I usually end up and then I feel much better. Sometimes, first thing in the morning, it hurts when I drink (I haven't eaten anything yet). I think maybe it's just the pressure of something on the stoma when it hasn't had anything on it for many hours (???). But, as everyone else suggested, if it continues, especially if you find yourself vomitting even with just liquid, call your doctor as it may be a stricture. Lisa S.

I had this also, and my doctor thought i was drinking too fast, but also put me on prevacid twice a day. That did the trick and I havent had the pain since. Good luck! Karyn

Hi Debra I've experienced what you're describing if I drink too much to fast or if I've not chewed something well enough. It's a HORRIBLE feeling, but usually goes away in about 10 minutes or son. Susan

I have that problem if I don't chew well enough or eat or drink to much at one time. I usually end up in the bathroom , and then I feel somewhat better. Hazel

Did you say Popcorn? Maybe your blocked......My doctor says to popcorn. It doesn't digest very well and can easily get stuck. I would call your doctor.........Have you been able to eat anything and keep it down... my doctor even recommended to keep meat tenderizer around for cases like this...But i haven't had to use any yet.....Hope you feel better soon....Suzan
