Horrible dinner last night!

Last night for dinner I didn't feel like cooking and asked the BF what he wanted. He really felt like pizza, and since I was too lazy last night to protest or even make something small for myself while he had the pizza, I ended up eating the toppings off of a slice (combination pizza from Papa John's) and I had two buffalo wings (yikes) dipped in Ranch, and one more wing about an hour later. I admit I've had a chip here or there, or a cracker here or there -- I even have had a couple bites of white bread, but this was the worst choice I made at home for dinner. Even though it was all protein that I ate, the fat content had to be out of the roof, and it just bugs me that I don't have more willpower! It also bugs me that a fatty chicken wing goes down SO much better than a grilled chicken breast with no skin. Darn it.

I have done this before. I don't think it's that bad unless you are doing it all the time. I look at what I was eating before, I would have been eating several pieces of pizza with the crust plus some wings. Leeanne

Thanks Leeanne! That makes me feel better that I'm not the only one. I do agree that it could have been worse (that crust was pretty tempting). I guess I'm angry with myself because I gained two pounds on Tuesday for some reason (have no idea why) and haven't lost it yet, so I am trying to be as good as possible and feel like I messed it up royally. Plus, I have been a total loser about exercise this week. Oh well, get back on that horse, right? Hugs, Beth

There have been a couple of times that I gained as well, with NO reason. Once it was 6 lb.s. After a couple of days it was gone. You will be ok. Hang in there? Leeanne

That is EXACTLY how I look at it. I've had pizza two or three times since surgery. I always pick the smallest slice in the pie and I'm literally content. Now I've never been able to finish the whole slice (even w/o the crust), but before... I could easily each anywhere from 4 to 6 slices of pizza without hesitation (depending on the size of the pie). For me personally, I think the worst thing I can do is deprive myself of something I want to eat. I've discovered that if I really want something -- I often just need a taste and no more. I don't need to pig out on it to feel better. Susan

Dut yourself some slack. You are human afterall Like Leanne said, as long as you aren't doing this all the time you'll be OK. Hang in there and just get in an extra walk or two this week to make up for it

Thanks Ronna! I will feel much better when I lose these two pounds I gained. Argh! I definitely am going to sweat at the YMCA tonight!

My husband works for papajohns, so he's always bringing home pepperoni pizza or chicken strips for the kids. I get tempted sometime, I admit. But as long as it's only a couple bites, I think you'll survive! Last night my husband brought home a stack of king kong pepperoni ( a new promotional pizza they are selling, with giant pepperoni slices) and it's a yummy snack! Bridget

I heard the promo for the Kong sized pepperoni while on hold last night! I almost went for it but the BF likes his "the works" pizza. Maybe I was so pissed at myself because it was just so gooooooood! Thanks!
